Terms of Service
These terms explain what gcupreceptor.com does, what we promise, and what we don’t. We’ve kept the language plain so you know exactly where you stand before you ask for our help.
Who we are
gcupreceptor.com is an independent, third-party service that helps Grand Canyon University (GCU) nursing students secure a qualified preceptor and a GCU-approved clinical site for their practicum. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Grand Canyon University. GCU is a private Christian university in Phoenix, Arizona, institutionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, with CCNE-accredited nursing programs.
By using this site or requesting our help, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our service. References to GCU, its programs, and its Office of Field Experience are descriptive only and do not imply any partnership.
What our service is, and isn’t
GCU students are generally responsible for identifying their own preceptor and clinical site, which GCU’s Office of Field Experience must review and approve to meet practicum standards. That gap, finding a qualified preceptor before placement spots fill up, is what we help with.
We offer two service pillars: physical placement matching for in-person clinical hours, and a virtual practicum service where applicable. We assist; we do not guarantee. We cannot guarantee that you will be placed, that GCU will approve any particular site, or that you will achieve any specific academic or clinical outcome. GCU does not place, assign, or secure preceptors, and neither service replaces GCU’s own approval process.
Whether you are pursuing the FNP, AGACNP, or PMHNP track, your placement must still be approved by GCU’s Office of Field Experience. You remain responsible for following GCU’s instructions, meeting your program’s requirements, and completing any compliance steps GCU directs.
Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information about your program, track, and location so we can assist effectively. You are responsible for confirming your own program requirements with GCU, completing your clinical hours and any on-campus immersion experiences your program requires, and meeting all deadlines set by GCU.
You acknowledge that final approval of any preceptor or site rests with GCU, not with us, and that our role is limited to assistance and matching support.
No warranties and limitation of liability
Our service is provided on an as-is basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We are not liable for delays in your program, a site that GCU declines to approve, or any indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of our service.
Information on this site is general and may be updated. For specifics on your program, always rely on GCU’s official program pages and your field experience specialist.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised terms. Questions about these terms can be sent through our contact page.
When you’re ready, we’d be glad to help you secure a qualified preceptor and a GCU-approved site, and you only pay when matched. Learn more about how it works or find a preceptor to get started.
